BANGKOK, April 10 (TNA) – Thailand reported 50 new Covid-19 infections, raising the total cases to 2,473 with one more death, bringing the toll to 33.
The Center for Covid-19 Situation Adminstration (CCSA) said Thailand is ranked 44th in the world for the number of coronavirus cases.
Dr. Thaweesin Wissanuyothin, CCSA spokesman said the new coronavirus-related death is a 43-year-old woman with pre-existing condition of Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE).
She was admitted to a hospital in Chachoengsao province with high fever on April 6. She also had diarrhea, vomiting and shortness of breath. She was on ventitor and suffered from severe pneumonia and died on April 7.
Out of all new infections, 27 cases had close contact with previous patients, three returnees from overseas, three visiting crowded places, five working in crowded places or working closely with foreigners, four medical staff and eight cases are under investigation, said Dr. Thaweesin.
Nine provinces, which remain free from the virus are Khampaeng Phet, Chai Nat, Trat, Nan, Bueng Kan, Phichit, Ranong, Sing Buri and Ang Thong, he said (TNA)
