SA KAEO, March 18 (TNA) – Thai and Cambodian immigration
officers join hands in suppressing transnational crimes by coordinating border
operation and information sharing.
A Cambodia delegation headed by immigration office of Poi
Pet visited Thailand’s Ban Klong Luek permanent border crossing in Sa Kaeo on
Monday.
Sa Kaeo Immigration Office head Pol Col Benjaphol Rotsawat
said both sides agreed to closely work on intercepting transnational crimes.
The Cambodian officers observed the works of their Thai
counterparts on immigration and passport handlings for future cooperation. They learned about automatic passport and
face scanning systems at Aranyaprathet Immigration Office.
Pol Col Benjaphol said Thailand and Cambodia were poised to
increase their cooperation not only to prevent crimes and improve security but
to better serve tourists and travelers as well.
The Immigration Bureau of the Royal Thai Police planned to
sign an agreement on immigration service with Cambodia in the near future, he
