BANGKOK, Feb 27 (TNA) – The Royal Thai Police Office condemned southern insurgents for kidnapping two policemen of Cho Airong station, shooting them dead in a ditch and taking away their guns.
Pol Col Krisana Patanacharoen, deputy spokesman of the police, condemned the incident in Cho Airong district of Narathiwat yesterday’s evening.
The attack happened when Pol Cpl Nares Iadthong and Pol Cpl Ruswaidee Samae were sitting in house no. 30 in Moo 2 village of Bukit sub-district.
Many gunmen in black and camouflage clothing showed up there, kidnapped both policemen and took them away on a Mitsubishi vehicle that belonged to one of the victims.
The bodies of both policemen were later found shot dead in a ditch about 100 meters from the kidnapping scene.
Local detectives were investigating the incident. Initially they blamed it on southern insurgents.
Pol Col Krisana said national police chief Pol Gen Chakthip Chaijinda ordered concerned officers to arrest suspects quickly and step up security measures. (TNA)
