BANGKOK, Jan 4 (TNA) – A dinner cruise caught fire on
Bangkok’s Chao Phraya River Thursday night injuring a female cook and a foreign
tourist.
The Vertical Cruise just departed from Asiatique pier for
the evening trip to Rama VIII Bridge on Thursday, until black smoke fumed out
from engine compartment, witnesses say.
The cruiser was abruptly docked at the nearest pier to
evacuate passengers and staff at 8 p.m.
Thai and foreign tourists fled the cruiser while fire fighters rushed to
the control the blaze.
Both of the injured suffered minor wounds and later sent to
a hospital.
A terrifying traditional dancer and a cook both noticed
thick black smoke from the engine and alerted the cruise operator.
Police investigator believe the fire was likely broke out
from short circuit in the engine room.(TNA)
