Head of the Tontae forest protection unit in Trang, Suriya Ratthakarn has warned tourists to stay away from waterfalls along the Bantad mountain range after a flash flood occurred at the Tontae waterfall yesterday. However, no one was there when it happened, so there was no injury.
All waterfalls in six districts along the mountain range have turned turbid and flow swiftly, posing a threat on lives and property of the people.
Officials monitored the situation to issue warning for local residents and tourists.
Meanwhile, the meteorological department warned of torrential rain in southern provinces today and tomorrow.
It said people should beware of a possible flash flood and the overflow of river.
All ships should proceed with caution, and small boats should keep ashore as waves are likely 2-3 metres high. (TNA)
