NONTHABURI, July 29 (TNA) — The Commerce Ministry has formed a trade war team to monitor the impacts of the trade war between China and the United States and find solutions for Thai operators.
Adul Chotinisakorn, director-general of the ministry’s Department of Foreign Trade, said his department set up the trade war team to study all impacts of the trade war and work out proactive and passive strategies to cope.
Seeing the importance of the study, the department together with the ASEAN Trade Promotion Association also organized a seminar last week to explore the opportunities of Thai exports amid the trade war especially for small and medium-sized enterprises.
In the wake of the trade war, Mr Adul said, the Department of Foreign Trade was watching out for illicit attempts to falsely claim the Thai origin in exports, preventing the influxes of trade war-affected products to Thailand, marketing Thai exports to China and the US, and promoting trade and investment in Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar and Vietnam.
