BANGKOK, July 15 (TNA) — Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha said he would introduce government policies to the parliament on July 25 and the opposition should not mistake the session as a censure debate.
“The policy draft is with me now. I would like everyone to understand that the policy statement is not a censure debate. Members (of the parliament) will share their views only to make policies complete. Members should keep this in mind,” Gen Prayut said.
Asked if the policy statement of his new government would include a constitutional amendment plan, Gen Prayut said there was not such content. However, he would support amendments to all problematic laws and the amendment would have to follow established procedures.
The prime minister also said that he would issue a statement in his capacity as the chief of the National Council for Peace and Order today to tell people and organizations that the NCPO would stop functioning from tomorrow onward. The swearing-in of the new cabinet was set for tomorrow evening. (TNA)
