PHUKET, July 8 (TNA) – Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha opened an underpass at five-way Chalong intersection to facilitate visits to local tourist attractions.
The new underpass is beneath the intersection of a highway and a municipal road of Rawai sub-district. Its construction began in July 2015 and it was unofficially opened on May 31.
The 546-million-baht project was aimed at facilitating traffic and promoting local tourism as it connects to Phuket’s major tourist destinations including Phromthep cape, Kata beach and Karon beach.
In the afternoon, the prime minister was set to inspect a tsunami response exercise and follow up the progress of a Phuket deep-sea port development project. (TNA)
