PHNOM PENH, March 7 (TNA) – The Export-Import Bank of
Thailand opens a representative office in Cambodia to provide loans for Thai
investors and importers of Thai goods.
It is Exim Bank’s third representative office in CLMV
countries after the bank opened its offices in Myanmar and Lao in 2017 and 2018
respectively.
Thailand’s Finance Minister Apisak Tantiworawong chaired the
opening ceremony of the office with Cambodia’s central bank officials in
attendance.
Mr Apisak said Thailand’s Exim Bank’s presence in Cambodia

loans but also essential advice on trade and finance which would encourage Thai
businesses to invest in Cambodia, he said.
The Bank’s had provided US$20 billion outstanding loans in
CLMV to facilitate Thailand’s trade and investment in these rapidly-growing
economies, Mr Apisak noted.
Exim Bank President Phisit Seriwiwatana said the new
representative office was under the Bank’s master plan to become financial

strategies.
The opening of Exim Bank’s offices in CLMV countries
(Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar and Vietnam) represented strong interests and demand
for foreign companies, he said.(TNA)
