NAKHON PATHOM, Feb 25 (TNA) – Hundreds of international
dancers swing the night away near iconic Phra Pathom Chedi stupa in a tourism
promotion event of Thailand’s Nakhon Pathom province.
Big Bang Swing Dancing at Phra Pathom Chedi featured
London-based band The Shirt Tail Stompers and the American singer Meschiya Lake
that drew over 600 Thais and foreigners to groove on the street in front of
Phra Pathom Chedi temple.
The Sunday street party brought swing music and enthusiasts
to the central province famous for the ancient Buddhist stupa.
More than 300 enthusiasts of a growing swing dance community,
including foreign dancers, came out for the shindig on the street.
It was organized for a second year by “Bangkok Swing,” a
group founded in 2011. This year,
Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) joined hands with the group in order to
promote one-day-trip tourism in the province situated just west of Bangkok.(TNA)
