BANGKOK, Jan 26 (TNA) — A Chinese tourist, who visited Thailand the first time, on Saturday was full of surprise after he received his missing money and travelling documents while he and his family appreciated the beautiful scenery at Pattaya resort.
40-year-old doctor Li Dapeng, a bone specialist working at a hospital in China, today received 8,400 Chinese yuan, equivalent to about 42,000 baht, from police in Pattaya.
The money and four passports, contained inside a bag, were found by an unidentified Thai citizen and later handed to Pattaya police on Friday.
Mr Li told police he realised that the bag was missing while he was travelling to Bangkok to fly back to China and believed he would be unable to get it back.
But he was wrong because police were able to reach him in the night and told him that the bag was found.
Expressing his appreciation, Mr Li thanked both a Thai citizen and police and said he would definitely visit Thailand again in future. (TNA)
