SA KAEO, DEC 18 (TNA) – Two Cambodians use spare tire to
conceal over 300 counterfeit luxury goods, trying to smuggle to a border market
in Thailand.
Thai customs officials and security officers at Klong Luek
border crossing searched the two Cambodians appearing suspicious as their
crossed the border in their car through the checkpoint on Tuesday.
Although initial search failed to detect the illegal goods a
thorough double-check at Customs office uncovered the large haul of pirated
items inside the spare tire.
The officers said over 300 sunglasses and wrist watches are
estimated Bt300,000 in value.
Admitting to the illicit trade, the two Cambodians have been
charged of violating Thai customs law.
They told police that they attempted to take the goods to
the popular Rong Klue border market. (TNA)
