BANGKOK, Dec 4 (TNA) – The police crack down on fake marriage scam, involving Indian men and Thai women.
Immigration police chief, Pol. Gen. Surachate Hakpal interrogated 10 Indian men and 11 Thai women, who were allegedly hired to register for marriage certificates to help Indian men seek visas for longer stay in the kingdom.
Arrest warrants were issued for 30 Indian men and 30 Thai women, for conspiring to falsify document. Most of these Indian people are moneylenders and sellers of consumer products such as home appliances by offering installment loans.
Thai women were hired for 500-5,000 baht to register for marriage certificates with Indian men, who later misused the official certificates for visa application.
All marriage certificates of these fake couples will be revoked by the Interior Ministry, said the immigration police chief. (TNA)
