PRACHUAP KHIRI KHAN, Nov 9 (TNA) — Bang Saphan Hospital evacuated ten patients in critical condition to other hospitals last night to prepare for a possible flooding following heavy rain in Prachuap Khiri Khan province.
Although Bang Saphan hospital has not affected by flooding, the hospital director, Cherdchai Chayawattho has limited service for out-patients but remains opened for emergency cases.
The electricity and water supply system can operate if the flood occurs and water pumps are ready to drain water from the buildings. If the situation gets worse, the remaining patients will be moved to the six-storey building.
Hospital staff moved medical equipments to higher ground.
Torrential rain has triggered flood, affecting about 1,700 households in Bang Saphan and Bang Saphan Noi districts. The water in Bang Saphan canal reached the critical point.
All schools in Bang Saphan have been closed. However, southern bound train service has not been affected and the Phetchkasem highway remains passable for all vehicles. (TNA)
