PHAYAO, OCT 29 (TNA) – Thai Prime Minister Prayut
Chan-o-cha gets moral support from senior citizens during his visit to an
elderly care center in Phayao, northern Thailand.
The Prime Minister toured the northern province on Monday as
part of his trip for a mobile Cabinet meeting scheduled for Tuesday in Chiang
Rai.
Ahead of the Cabinet retreat, like in other previous
provincial tours, Prayut inspected government’s projects and met with local
residents. He stopped at “Pracharat
Market” scheme before meeting with senior citizens at Home Huk elderly care
facility.
Prayut was given a symbolic moral support in a tradition
blessing ceremony called “bai sri.” The
elderly tied cotton strings on his wrists as they wishing him success and good
luck.
The prime minister and his entourage later visited Kwan
Phayao, a famous and iconic lake of the province, where he inspected a
freshwater fishery research center.
On Tuesday, Prayut and his Cabinet ministers will meet with
local officials and businesses to consider various development projects for
Thailand’s upper north.(TNA)
