PHAYAO, Dec 3 (TNA) – Thailand’s first museum dedicated
to magic amulet cloths has been opened inside a temple in the northern province of Phayao.
Over 200 amulet or talisman cloths aged between
50-100 years are on display at Khunkhuan City Museum, Wat Thamikaram temple, in
Pong district.
The main objective of the Museum is to conserve of the
amulet clothes of the Lanna, the ancient civilization of Thailand’s north.
Some people consider amulet cloths, some in the forms of
shirts and pants, hold magical powers that bring good luck to and ward off
dangers from persons who possess them. (TNA)
