BANGKOK, July 18 (TNA) – Thailand logged seven more patients of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) and all of them were returnees in quarantine. Total cases rose to 3,246.
Dr Taweesin Visanuyothin, spokesman of the Center for COVID-19 Situation Administration, said two of the seven people returned from the United States. One is a 64-year-old maid and the other is a 66-year-old retired government official. They arrived on July 11 and were quarantined in Bangkok. They tested positive for COVID-19 on July 15. The woman had a dry throat and the man had excessive phlegm.
Another new case returned from Bahrain. The female worker aged 35 arrived on July 12 and was quarantined in Chon Buri province. She tested positive on July 16 while showing no symptoms.
Four other new cases are male students aged 20, 24 (two persons) and 29. They arrived on July 17 while having runny noses and sore throats and coughing. They tested positive on July 17 and received hospital treatment in Samut Prakan province.
Of 3,246 accumulated cases, 3,096 recovered. There were no new deaths over the past 24 hours and the death toll was at 58. (TNA)
