BANGKOK, May 18 (TNA) – Thailand reported three new Covid-19 cases, raising the total cases to 3,031 while the death toll remains at 56.
Spokesman of the Center for Covid-19 Situation Administration (CCSA), Taweesilp Visanuyothin said the total recovery cases were recorded at 2,857 and now, 118 patients are being treated in hospitals.
Three new infections include a 29-year-old Thai woman, having close contact with a previous patient at an office in Bangkok. Her initial symptom is having diarrhea and was found infected in the testing for Covid-19 on May 15.
The second case is a 55-year-old man, working at the same office with the first patient. He underwent the testing on May 15 when he also tested positive to Covid-19.
The last case is a 27-year-old woman from Phuket. She is a saleswoman and had close contact with a previous patient. She is now receiving medical treatment in Phuket.
After the relaxation of COVID-19 measures, which allow reopening of several businesses, the spokesman said the survey on six business types, conducted between May 7-15 found 90 per cent of 2,375 businesses, including markets, restaurants, supermarkets, parks, hairdressers and pet grooming salons followed the sanitary guidelines.
They require customers and staff to wear masks, clean their hands and observe social distancing. The stores are cleaned more often.
He said limiting the number of shoppers at one time was an important measure as well as cleaning and disinfecting areas that are commonly touched by many people. (TNA)
