SONGKHLA, May 15 (TNA) – Mosques in Thailand observe
strict disease control measures for Friday prayers.
After banning religious gatherings during the COVID-19
pandemic, Muslims are allowed to attend Friday prayers at mosques for the first
time last week. A set of disease control
and social distancing rules have been imposed by the Sheikhul Islam Office.
A mosque in the southern province of Songkhla requires all
Muslims to have fever check, clean their hands and wear face masks at all time.
In performing the prayers, they must keep distance with
others by staying on floor marks.
Under the Ramadan guideline provided by the Sheikhul Islam
Office, Muslims are advised to avoid touching, hugging and cheek kisses during
the religious rites. They should avoid
feasts during the holy month of Ramada to prevent the spread of the virus.
