YALA, April 1 (TNA) – The southern border province of Yala confirmed the country’s 11th Covid-19 death.
The latest death was a 79-year-old man, who returned from Malaysia on March 7 and fell ill 14 days later.
Meanwhile, some provinces have imposed night curfews to curb the spread of the coronavirus as the number of patients continues to rise.
In Nonthaburi adjacent to Bangkok, the governor ordered a curfew from 11pm to 5am effective on Tuesday as the province reported the total cases rose to 63, including one death two days ago.
Good transporters and those who have to work during the period or have an emergency are exempted from the curfew order.
Phisanulok governor has imposed a night curfew from 11 pm. – 5 am. from Wednesday with exemptions for goods transporters, those with duties at night time or having an emergency.
The province confirmed three coronavirus cases and 1,651 persons have been placed under monitoring.
The northern province of Mae Hong Son has banned nighttime travels from 10 pm. – 4 am. except for emergency travels related to public health or state operations.
The province has enforced an entry ban to non-Thai citizens and travelers from Bangkok or other high risk provinces have to be placed under self-quarantine for 14 days.
Hotel operators are ordered to strictly screen their guests.
