BANGKOK, Oct 30 (TNA) – Cambodian Under Secretary of State of the Ministry of Tourism praises Thai government’s latest economic stimulus scheme.
Sokrethya Sok commented that the ‘Chim, Shop, Chai’ scheme was timely implemented given the current global economic outlook.
Chim, Shop, Chai, meaning taste, shop and spend, is a scheme that offers cash back, rebate to encourage spending to millions of people.
The scheme was similar to an economic stimulus scheme in Cambodia about a decade ago that helped vitalize the tourism industry, Sokrethya, also known as Dr. Sam, told Thai reporters.
The only difference was the Cambodian government handed out cash to organizations not individuals, he noted.
Chim, shop, Chai scheme allows people to register and receive cash back for spending at participating merchants and other privileges to help boost the economy. (TNA)
