KRABI, Oct 25 (TNA) – In his new charity running event for seven hospitals in the South, rockstar Artiwara “Toon” Kongmalai has raised more than 15 million baht as he and his team entered Krabi province on the second day of the activity.
The new charity running project “Kao Kon La Kao” or “Take One Step Each” covers the 300-km route through four southern provinces – Trang, Krabi, Phang-nga and Phuket.
Toon led a parade of celebrities to start the running at Rajamangala University of Technology Srivijaya Trang campus in Trang’s Sikao district yesterday at 6 pm.
The group entered Krabi province at 5 am. and reached the Krabi Provincial Administration Organisation, covering 114 km. or almost half of the whole planned route.
The donation reached 15 million baht and the 5.5 running activity was held around the Krabi town before the team will leave the province to Phang-nga tomorrow. They plan to arrive at their destination in Phuket this Sunday.
Kao Kon La Kao project, initiated by the lead singer of one of the most popular rock, Bodyslam helps raise funds for small provincial and district-level hospitals and also encourages Thai people to do regular exercise to stay healthy.
In 2017, Artiwara led a 2,215km, 55-day charity run from the southernmost province of Yala to the northernmost province of Chiang Rai. The running event raised more than one billion baht for 11 state-owned hospitals. (TNA)
