BANGKOK, Sept 27 (TNA) — Representatives of South Korea’s Korea Expressway Corporation met Transport Minister Saksayam Chidchob to express their interest in traffic solution investments in Thailand.
Mr Saksayam said that South Korea was interested in many projects in Thailand, especially traffic solution ones.
South Korea had advanced technology for traffic management and the Transport Ministry planned to solve traffic congestion in front of toll plazas among other traffic projects, the minister said.
The Expressway Authority of Thailand planned to remove toll gate barriers to facilitate the traffic flows of motorists who used electronic toll collection. As the state enterprise could modify its existing technology for the purpose, Thailand and South Korea might need to further discuss their cooperation on infrastructure projects later, Mr Saksayam said.
Korea Expressway Corporation expressed its interest in multi-lane free flow projects; an expressway project to link Thailand, Laos and Vietnam; traffic improvement solutions in Bangkok; intelligence transport systems and an inter-city motorway project from Nakhon Pathom province to Cha-am district in Phetchaburi, Mr Saksayam said.
