BANGKOK, Sept 20 (TNA) – An international conference on
mental health is held in Bangkok as a platform for sharing experiences and
knowledge on mental health treatments.
Thailand’s Ministry of Public Health and mental health
promotion networks co-organized the conference on “Working Together, Delivering
a Better Future for Mental Health Patients” on Friday.
Over 70 participants including doctors, nurses and patients
from six countries in Southeast Asia attended the conference.
The meeting acknowledged that there were more than one
million people suffering mental illnesses in 10 Southeast Asian countries.
The participants discussed how to improve public service for
people suffering from mental illnesses and access to necessary treatment. They also urged people to monitor their own
family member’s mental conditions; so that they could quickly undergo diagnosis
and treatment. (TNA)
