BANGKOK, Sept 11 (TNA) – The Supreme Court on Wednesday upheld four-year sentence for Red Shirt leader, Arisman Pongruagrong without suspension for his role in derailing the ASEAN summit in 2009.
He was found guilty of staging a riot at the Royal Cliff Beach Resort Hotel in Pattaya that disrupted the Asean Summit and forced evacuation of regional leaders.
Arisman, co-leader of the United Front of Democracy Against Dictatorship, led demonstrators to storm the Asean Summit venue in their protest against the Abhisit Vejjajiva government.
The Appeals Court earlier upheld a lower court’s ruling sentencing Arisman and 12 others to four years in jail without suspension. (TNA)
