SONGKHLA, Sept 6 (TNA) — Rain relieved smoke haze from Indonesia in this southern province but the monsoon may bring back the pollution, according to local officials.
Smoke haze from wildfire on Sumatra island affected the South, including many districts of Songkhla, in the past few days.
This morning visibility improved especially in Songkhla’s Hat Yai district thanks to rain last night. Tourists were able to see views through thin haze from Khor Hong mountain in Hat Yai.
The Regional Environment Office 16 reported that air quality in the South was either good or moderate with the 24-hour level of fine dust at 8-43 micrograms per cubic meter of air. The safety threshold is at 50 micrograms.
