BANGKOK, Aug 26 (TNA) — Tourism and Sports Ministry assured that the Grand Prix motorcycle racing in Thailand will be grander this year and welcome at least 200,000 spectators.
Tourism and Sports Minister Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn gave the assurance after chairing the first meeting of the MotoGP-organizing committee. Thailand will host the MotoGP World Championship for the second year at the Chang International Circuit in Buri Ram province. The circuit was set to be the 15th round of the racing on Oct 4-6.
Mr Phiphat said the MotoGP organization last year was greatly successful for both the racing itself and related tourism. The racing made worldwide headlines and was also voted to be the Best Grand Prix of The Year 2018, he said.
For this year, the tourism and sports minister said, the event would focus on activities to impress local and international fans who would arrive to cheer their favorite racers at the circuit. (TNA)
