KANCHANABURI, Oct 12 (TNA) – Police sought longer detention of Myanmar man identified as Tata, who allegedly killed a bearcat in the Sai Yok National Park.
Police sought approval for the longer detention from the Kanchanaburi provincial court as they might need the Myanmar suspect for additional re-enactment.
Yesterday police brought Tata and Anusorn Ruean-ngam, a defence volunteer at the Dan Makham Tia district office, to the Royal Thai Police Office in Bangkok for interrogation. There Mr Tata said Mr Anusorn and another defence volunteer Sakan Kaengluang claimed to be policemen, ordered him to shoot a bearcat and witnessed the killing.
Mr Anusorn said he had intentionally taken all the seized firearms into the national park.
Yesterday officials brought both suspects for re-enactment at three locations where wild animals were shot and butchered. They had yet to do re-enactment at two other locations where the bearcat carcass was dropped and the group allegedly fired skyward for an auspicious purpose.
Besides, official are searching for another Myanmar man who allegedly butchered the bearcat. (TNA)
