BANGKOK, Oct 1 (TNA) – The Criminal Court on Tuesday dismissed ivory possession case against construction tycoon Premchai Karnasuta and his wife.
The court ruled that four African elephant tusks found during a search at his residence in Bangkok’s Huai Kwang district were legally registered to the authorities.
The seized tusks will be returned to them.
Premchai, his wife Kanitta Karnasuta, and her associate Wandee Somphum were defendants in the case. They denied all charges.
The tusks were found in the house of president of Italian-Thai Development Plc on Feb 7, 2018 during the search by officials after he was arrested in a wildlife poaching case in the Thungyai Naresuan Wildlife Sanctuary in early February last year. (TNA)
