BANGKOK, Jan 20 (TNA) – The cabinet approved the cost-of-living subsidy scheme called “Rao Chana” due to the new spread of COVID-19 and the registration of participants will start on Jan 29.
The scheme will cover 31.1 million people, each of whom will receive 3,500 baht a month for two months. The financial aid is expected to start early next month and the subsidy is directed to expenses on consumer products and travel to circulate money in the national economic system.
Criteria on participation include people’s levels of income, social security and earlier accepted assistance from the government. People from all walks of life are eligible for the subsidy including freelancers, vendors, laborers and farmers.
For the quick implementation of the subsidy scheme, the government will first direct it to the holders of government welfare cards and those who use its Paotang e-wallet. Others can register for the Rao Chana subsidy scheme at www.เราชนะ.com between 6am and 11pm on Jan 29-Feb 12. (TNA)
