BANGKOK, Jan 7 (TNA) – Thai Union Group PCL (TU) insisted that its products are safe although its workers were infected with COVID-19.
The company stated that on Jan 5 its 23,630 workers, 85% of its total workforce, were tested for COVID-19 and only 69 or 0.29% of the tested employees tested positive. The company hired 27,552 employees in Samut Sakhon province.
The company assured that it complied with disease control measures of the Public Health Ministry. They included big cleaning activities throughout its workplaces and quarantine on at-risk employees who had been in contact with infected people.
Thai Union Group president Thiraphong Chansiri said canned seafood products were prepared under heat of 114 degrees Celsius and hygienic and safety standards at all factories of the company guaranteed no contamination with any diseases. (TNA)
