NAKHON RATCHASIMA, Dec 14 (TNA) – The organizers of the Big Mountain Music Festival face legal action for disobeying a closure order from the disease control committee of Nakhon Ratchasima province.
Nakhon Ratchasima police chief Pol Maj Gen Pornchai Nonwachai said the organizers of the music festival violated the closure order last night and were considered as breaking the Disease Control Act.
The provincial police commander ordered the chief of the Pak Chong police station to prosecute the organizers. The law violation carries a jail term of up to one year and a fine of up to 100,000 baht.
Police would question administrative and public health officials and the concert organizers and lay charges against the organizers, Pol Maj Gen Pornchai said.
The organizers informed police that they would cooperate and enter the justice system, he said.
The Big Mountain Music Festival ended at 10pm last night, not at 2am as on its first night of performances.
The governor of Nakhon Ratchasima who chaired the provincial disease control committee ordered an end to the concert festival. The organizers petitioned against the order but to no avail. They promised to give refunds. (TNA)
