BANGKOK, Oct 23 (TNA) — Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha has ordered quick investigation into the gas pipe explosion in Samut Prakan province and assistance for victims.
Government spokesman Anucha Burapachaisri said Gen Prayut ordered investigation into the gas leakage which caused explosion and fire in Preng sub-district of Samut Prakan’s Bang Bo district as the incident killed and injured people and damaged local properties including vehicles.
The prime minister also expressed condolences towards people suffering losses in the incident and ordered quick studies on impacts on the public.
He had a situation control center formed to quickly handle impacts, issue relevant warnings to people and report progress in solutions to the situation, Mr Anucha said.
A gas pipe explosion killed three people in Samut Prakan province, on the eastern outskirts of Bangkok, on Thursday.
Fifty-two others have been injured when the gas pipe of Thailand’s largest petroleum company, PTT, blasted with huge fires in Bang Bo district.
In its statement, PTT says the natural gas leaked from a pipe leading to the Asia Industrial Estate Suvaranabhumi and caught fire. (TNA)
