BANGKOK, Aug 31 (TNA) – The Education Ministry welcomes students for talks as a student network across the country has planned to stage a protest outside the Education Ministry on Sept 5, said Education Minister, Nataphon Teepsuwan.
Nathaphol said he will see first what their demands are. The ministry remains open to listen to their opinions and schools held forums for them to express their opinions.
After their Aug 19 protest at the ministry in Bangkok, talks have continued with several groups of students, he said.
He did not confirmed whether he would be present at the rally on Saturday.
The minister said he would assess the situation and see which groups would gather there, high school, university students or public members.
“If they are ready for talks inside the ministry’s premises, they will be welcomed. If they want to stay outside, he perhaps cannot do anything as the protesters may not allow him to speak,” he said. (TNA)
