Nakhon Ratchasima, Oct 15 (TNA) – Khao Yai National Park, one of Thailand’s most popular nature reserves, experienced a record influx of visitors over the recent long weekend, with daily entrance fees surpassing one million baht.
Chaiya Huayhongthong, the chief of the national park, revealed that the park witnessed an unprecedented number of tourists over the three-day holiday from October 12-14. The influx was so significant that traffic became congested at the park’s main entrance in Pak Chong district.
To alleviate traffic congestion, park officials set up additional ticket booths along the road leading to the entrance.
On October 13 alone, the park recorded a staggering 19,800 visitors, 770 foreigners. These visitors arrived in approximately 4,000 cars and nearly 1,000 motorcycles, generating over 1.1 million baht in entrance fees.
The surge in tourism can be attributed to the pleasant weather conditions, with cooler temperatures and even chilly nights, making it an ideal time for camping at Lam Takong campground.
Additionally, the park’s two most famous waterfalls, Haew Narok and Haew Suwat, are currently flowing strongly, offering visitors stunning views.
The park’s renowned Pha Diao Dai viewpoint also provides breathtaking vistas of mist-covered mountains, creating a surreal experience for tourists. -819 (TNA)
