BANGKOK, Dec 27 (TNA) – The air quality in the capital city of Bangkok this morning, as reported by the Bangkok Air Quality Data Center, indicated a PM2.5 particulate matter level exceeding the safety standard.
At 7:00 AM, the average measurement over the past 24 hours ranged from 31.1 to 56.5 micrograms per cubic meter, surpassing the standard and reaching the orange level, which has adverse health effects.
The highest levels were found in the Khlong Sam Wa district at 56.5 micrograms per cubic meter, followed by Thon Buri at 55.7 micrograms per cubic meter, and Nong Chok at 55.1 micrograms per cubic meter. Citizens are advised to use protective equipment and limit outdoor activities.
As for the air quality forecast during the New Year festival from December 27 to January 4, poor air circulation and the occurrence of a surface inversion may limit the dispersion of particulate matter, leading to prolonged periods of poor air quality. -819 (TNA)
