CHONBURI, Sept 4 (TNA) – The oil leakage which occurred during the oil discharge at Thai Oil Refinery in Chonburi is currently under control.
On Sept3 around 9.00 PM, there was an oil spill during the oil discharge around the area of the Single Buoy Mooring Buoy (SBM-2) of Thai Oil Public Company Limited’s refinery in Sriracha, said the company in a press release.
The company has mitigated the situation with an immediate response following the emergency oil spill plan in accordance with international standards.
The valves connecting the SBM-2 were closed, the oil boom and dispersant have been put in place to prevent the oil spread.
The company is investigating the incident and has been receiving good support from relevant government agencies and private sectors. At present, the oil leakage is under control and no human injury caused. The company will provide further update accordingly. (TNA)
