SURAT THANI, Aug 11 (TNA) – Thai Olympic boxers and their coaches and staff tested negative for COVID-19 during their quarantine in the Samui Plus Model project after returning from Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.
The delegation including bronze medalist Sudaporn “Taew” Seesondee stayed and relaxed on Koh Samui island in the southern province during the quarantine.
According to the procedures of the Samui Plus Model, the returnees underwent RT-PCR tests for COVID-19 just after their flight landed on the island. The tests done by Koh Samui Hospital returned negative. The delegates were kept in quarantine at luxury villas prepared by the Tourism Association of Koh Samui.
Today the tourist island logged 10 new COVID-19 cases who were parts of an old entertainment venue cluster. Their infections were confirmed in their third test during 14-day quarantine. (TNA)
