BANGKOK, Oct 14 (TNA) — The Centre for Covid-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) on Wednesday reported nine new cases of coronavirus disease over a 24-hour period.
The CCSA said all new cases were quarantined arrivals from India (2), Japan (1), South Sudan (3) or the United Arab Emirates (UAE) (3). All were asymptomatic.
The three cases from South Sudan are Thai army engineers aged 27, 35 and 36 respectively. They came home from a UN mission in South Sudan.
The three cases from the UAE include two Thai women. One is a female flight attendant, 26, and a masseuse, 39. Both were quarantined in Chon Buri.
The other case from the UAE is an American boxing coach, aged 31. His health record showed he had earlier contracted the virus.
Two cases from India are Indian housewives, aged 25 and 55, whose families are in Thailand.
The patient from Japan is a Thai woman, aged 50.
As of Wednesday, the number of confirmed cases in Thailand stands at 3,652 as 3,457 have recovered and 136 others are at hospitals. The death toll remains unchanged at 59. (TNA)
