SA KAEO, Aug 6 (TNA) — Officials screened the health of 25 Cambodian students who crossed the border to pursue their study after obtaining royal scholarships.
The students were welcomed at the immigration office in Aranyaprathet district. They comprised 17 male students and eight females. The students received scholarships from Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn to study at five institutions in Thailand.
The students arrived from Poipet town. Their luggage was disinfected. Then they boarded an army bus to Bodhivijjalaya College of Srinakharinwirot University in Watthana Nakhon district, Sa Kaeo, where they would be quarantined for 14 days.
Aranyaprathet district chief Sawanit Suriyakul said the students arrived thanks to a lockdown-easing measure of the Center for COVID-19 Situation Administration.
The students observed disease control measures and could thus have confidence that Thailand was effectively controlling the coronavirus disease 2019, he said. (TNA)
