BANGKOK, April 18 (TNA) – The daily new cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) infection rose by 33 and there was not a new death case over the past 24 hours.
The government reported that the accumulated local cases increased to 2,733, 1787 of whom recovered.
Dr Taweesin Visanuyothin, spokesman of the government’s Center for COVID-19 Situation Administration, said 1,551 patients were in Bangkok and Nonthaburi, 95 in the North, 348 in the Central Plains, 108 in the Northeast, 563 in the South. Most patients are in the age range of 20-29.
The number of recovery cases rose by about 100, raising the recovery total to 1,787, while 899 patients remained at hospitals. The death toll remained at 47.
The daily new cases included 11 people in close contact with earlier patients. All of them are in Bangkok.
Other new cases were two returnees, one person who was in close contact with a returnee, two visitors to crowded places, four people working in crowded places or in close contact with foreigners, one medical official, and two quarantined returnees in Krabi province.
The government was investigating 10 other cases. (TNA)
