BANGKOK, April 16 (TNA) – Thai Prime Minister Prayut
Chan-o-cha on Thursday visited Siriraj Hospital in Bangkok to offer his moral
support to medical personnel in the fight against the new coronavirus.
In the meeting with doctors, nurses, staff and executives of
Thailand’s first hospital, Prayut asked them about their works to provide
treatments for Covid-19 patients.
He praised the medical personnel for their sacrifice and
hard works in combating the highly infectious disease.
The prime minister vowed to provide supports to all of them
citing the benefits that had recently been approved by his Cabinet, including
insurance policies and compensations for medical workers infected with the
coronavirus.
Hospital staff later demonstrated the Artificial
Intelligence (AI) system being deployed in collaboration with China’s IT giant,
Huawei.
The AI technology has been used in China to battle the virus.
Siriraj Hospital and some other medical facilities in Thailand have been equipped
with the system in the disease control efforts. (TNA)
