LOEI, Sept 23 (TNA) — The provincial governor of Loei conducted ceremonies for the piling of the first pillar for the Skywalk project of Chiang Khan district.
Its completion was set for New Year and a participatory plan for the tourism promotion of this New Year gift is underway.
Loei governor Chaiwat Chuenkosoom and local spiritual leader Thaworn Chueaboonmee presided over the Hindu and Buddhist ceremonies for the piling of the first pillar for the Skywalk project near the Phra Yai Phu Khok Ngio Buddha image in Ban Tha Dee Mee village of Pak Tom sub-district in Chiang Khan district.
Sompong Polpatanakul, provincial chief of public works and town & country planning, Samrit Supama, former cultural chief of Loei, local administrators and villagers witnessed the ceremonies.
After the auspicious event, construction workers would start the construction including the installation of beams and glass panels. The construction would be completed early next year and the project would be a New Year gift from the government to people, Mr Chaiwat said.
Provincial authorities and representatives of Loei Rajabhat University and local residents were planning a tourism promotion plan related to the new Skywalk project, local cultures and local tourist attractions.
“Fifty tourists will enter the Skywalk at every five minutes and they will take turns to be at its photography spot that will feature the sea of mist. It will be opened from 5am to 6pm when visitors can see the sunset. The province will have its best tourism management plan,” the Loei governor said. (TNA)
