BANGKOK, Sept 6 (TNA) — The Anti-Corruption Organization of Thailand (ACT) organized an annual event at the Bangkok International Trade & Exhibition Center to promote its anti-corruption campaign. This year it urged people in all sectors to fight corruption.
The organization set Sept 6 for the annual campaign event. The activity has continued since 2011.
This year, ACT encouraged people in all sectors to be anti-corruption volunteers to fight against corruption in their own roles and contexts. It expected the public participation to create the social power that can reject all forms of corruption and leave no room for corrupt people in the society.
ACT also called for collaboration among the civil sector, the government sector and the private sector in the fight.
Representatives of organizations attending the event included Worawit Sukboon, secretary-general of the National Anti-Corruption Commission, Deunden Nikomborirak, research director for economic governance at the Thailand Development Research Institute and Saree Aongsomwang, secretary-general of the Foundation for Consumers.
ACT also invited new politicians to share their standpoints and views on anti-corruption efforts. (TNA)
