BANGKOK, Sept 4 (TNA) — A delegation of businessmen and journalists from Turkey called on Deputy Prime Minister Somkid Jatusripitak and expressed investment interest in the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC).
Mr Somkid informed the delegation of the government’s economic and investment policies and strategies for megaprojects including the EEC scheme. He told the delegation that he expected more investment from Turkey.
The deputy prime minister said the government was emphasizing economic development with innovations and technologies and industrial projects based on innovations and value creation formed the core of the EEC.
The Turkish delegation said it included representatives of Turkish companies in the industries that the EEC targeted and the companies were ready to increase their investment in Thailand.
Turkey considered Asia as the continent of growth and investment, they said.
Mr Somkid then told the delegation that investors would have advantages in Thailand because the country was a regional center of production and economic networking linking its neighboring countries and other Southeast Asian nations. (TNA)
