BANGKOK, May 25 (TNA) – Former president of the National Legislative Assembly (NLA), Pornpetch Wichitcholchai was selected as Senate Speaker during the first Senate meeting at the auditorium of TOT Plc headquarters yesterday.
Gen Singsuek Singphrai, former NLA member, and Supphachai Somcharoen, former chairman of the Election Commission were named as deputies.
Their appointments will become official after receiving royal endorsement from His Majesty the King.
Mr Pornpetch did not touch on the issue of voting for the prime minister because he did not want to say anything that may cause any problem or conflict later. (TNA)
