BANGKOK, March 27 (TNA) — King Power Group and rock star Toon Bodyslam jointly launched the Kao Kon La Kao Foundation with a startup fund of 20 million baht and planned charity runs nationwide in two years to help community-based hospitals.
Aiyawat Srivaddhanaprabha, chief executive officer of King Power Group, said his group was confident of Thai people’s potential to support the society and thus gave the startup fund for the operations of the new foundation.
According to him, in the next two years the foundation will be encouraging people to exercise in its 10-kilometer-long charity run events in five regions of the country. The running activities will begin in the Northeast in June and later move to the South, the North, the East and the Central Plain.
The foundation will also focus on educating general people on health promotion and presenting through digital media the conditions of health facilities that lack resources.
Athiwara Khongmalai, aka Toon Bodyslam, said that after he had finished his 2,215-kilometer-long Kao Kon La Kao charity run from Betong district of Yala province to Mae Sai district in Chiang Rai province to raise funds for 11 hospitals in 2017, he received endless calls to support health affairs.
Therefore, he transformed the Kao Kon La Kao initiative into the foundation for sustainable social contributions.
“We want to help people in our way as much as we can,” Toon said. (TNA)
