NONG KHAI, June 15 (TNA) — Thailand’s renowned rock star Athiwara Khongmalai or “Toon Bodyslam” on Saturday hit the road again with a relay race event covering 175-kilometer route from Nong Khai to Khon Kaen on June 15-16, raising funds for eight hospitals in the northeastern region.
The “Kao Kon La Kao” charity campaign by the singer began early this morning, starting from the Thailand-Laos First Friendship Bridge in Nong Khai border province and finishing in Khon Kaen province.
The entire distance is 175 kilometres and the charity run is two days exactly.
By Saturday morning, people lining along the Mittraphap Road cheered their beloved singer and 15 million baht are donated duriung the very first hours o the campaign to assist the hospitals.
The rock star received about 1.3 billion baht from donors following the 55-day run that ended last December. The run began in the southernmost district of Betong in Yala province and ended in Mae Sai northern district bordering Myanmar.
‘Toon’ said at that time his campaign staff had raised awareness of the need to ease the workloads of doctors, nurses and medical staff in all hospitals they had assisted. (TNA)
