BANGKOK, March 25 (TNA) — Kalin Sarasin, chairman of the Thai Chamber of Commerce, said there were many steps to take before the formation of the next government and in the meantime all parties should cooperate for national progress instead of idling.
It would take quite a long time for the new government to take shape and the private sector hoped that Thailand would continue to progress without any idling period.
“This moment is crucial as foreigners want to invest in and visit Thailand. Peace and order are important and will allow the Thai economy to grow,” Mr Kalin said.
He suggested many policies should be implemented continuously, including the Eastern Economic Corridor and efforts to promote national competitiveness.
He also said he had no problems with wage increases but the new government should focus on the improvement of labor skills because machines and robots would increasingly replace workers.
During the campaigns, many political parties promised to increase the minimum wages for workers.
Mr Kalin also urged the Election Commission to answer all doubts about the transparency of the March 24 election. (TNA)
