BANGKOK, Sept 11 (TNA) – The Ministry of Commerce is helping operators in the service sector that has been affected by the coronavirus disease 2019.
Its Department of International Trade Promotion organized the “Thriving in the New Normal” event to present business solutions to COVID-19-affected operators in the service sector.
The event was a forum for knowledge exchange and discussions on the rehabilitation of four kinds of business namely event organization, games, animation and logistics amid COVID-19 impacts.
A discussion on “Moving to the Next Normal” included representatives of companies in the service sector. There was also a business-matching and business-counseling activity gathering three financial institutions and about 50 operators in event organization, games and logistics business.
The department expected at least 100 business-matching deals and about 165 million baht worth of finance from participating financial institutions.
Somdet Susomboon, director-general of the Department of International Trade Promotion, said operators were facing financial challenges and needed solutions to maintain their business.
Last year the value of service business was estimated at 14.20 billion baht. His department is organizing online and offline business negotiations for operators in the service sector and hopes the sector will this year grow at a similar pace to its rate last year. (TNA)
